Connecting industry stakeholders doing business in the copperbelt

WHY IT MATTERS TO YOU

We have been closely monitoring the spread of the COVID-19 virus around the globe, and into Africa and its impact on African economies and businesses. While the long-term effect of the virus is still a question mark, government and mining businesses are battling to keep their activities and operations afloat. What will be the adequate business model to adapt to mitigate the impact of Covid-19 on the mining operations, and the communities relying on viable productivity? How will the sector recover and what does it mean for the upcoming demand of strategic metals and minerals for EV and renewable energy?
Join us on the 17th-19th of June as we will dive into burning topics with experts’ insights and share of best practices.

DRC MINING WEEK AT YOUR SERVICE: WHY A Digital EVENT?

DRC Mining Week initially taking place in June will now run from the 7th to the 9th of October 2020, closely followed by our other mining events in Nigeria and Rwanda. Understanding and representing our customer’s visions and needs is at the centre of our mission. The mining industry is currently facing mines closures, stopping activities and production while having to manage employees and communities distress and expectations. There is actually a lot that can be done to provide information, and discuss to support those businesses and houses trying to mitigate the impact of Covid-19. This is where we come in. After 16 years of partnerships and live events, 2020 is offering us the opportunity to service and support our audience 365 days a year. More than before, creating that connectivity, networking and learning will be at the heart of this digital platform, maintaining business engagement and eager to get stronger out of this challenging experience.

Mining Review Africa, a core arm of our business, has been a partner since the early days of DRC Mining Week. The development and offering during the digital event going to propel the content and expertise we can share and get out of both media and production heads. Mining Review Africa is now our focus point for relevant content and information and will be a pivotal player in the success of this platform. We are therefore proposing to host a series of webinars covering burning topics for the mining industry in the DRC at the same time where DRC Mining Week was supposed to take place.
